Taking the manual labour out of level design.

The Calliper editor, formerly Crowbar, is designed to be a cross-platform, extensible level editor that accelerates the creation of computer game maps. Targeted specifically at Source engine games, it aims to bring all the development cycle stages together in a flexible "mapping IDE".

With the initial Crowbar prototype written as a final year project at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Calliper's development continues as an open-source application on Github.

3.35GB of worlds, and counting...

KOTH Incendio

I've been making maps for various computer games (some being more successful than others) since around 2006. I'm most regular around TF2Maps.net, but other games I've mapped for include Left 4 Dead, Counter Strike, Portal and 007 Nightfire.

Everything I do is freely available for use and abuse on Github, too.

Super Flight Academy

Super Flight Academy is a procedural arcade shooter demo co-written for the Game Programming course at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. As the player progresses, their proficiency is tracked and used to tailor the difficulty of the enemies encountered, and the quicker the proficiency improves, the more difficulty variance is introduced.

Super Flight Academy is available as a download for Windows from the link below.

Posing for the camera

Amateur photography has been an interest of mine for the last few years, and I've been fortunate enough to be able to explore the beautiful environments of Hong Kong and China while on university exchange.

When at home in the UK, common subjects of mine include the city of London, colourful costume-goers, the Sussex countryside and our Springer Spaniel, Zafi.

All of my photos can be found on Flickr.

Behind the tech:

My name's Jonathan Poncelet, though online I mostly go by the handle X6Herbius or, more recently, Vesper.

I'm a Computer Science student at the University of Warwick in the UK, having just come back from an exchange year at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. In my spare time I like to mod video games, program computers and take photos, some of which are featured above.

Posing on the Thames

I come from the south east of the UK, very close to Brighton, and I'm lucky enough to have both the South Downs on my doorstep and London an hour away on the train. Once in a while you'll also find me hanging out with furry costume aficionados, who like to lark about in Central London and elsewhere, and they make brilliant portrait subjects.

I enjoy walking, cycling, playing squash and skiing, and can commonly be found listening to Simian Mobile Disco or High Contrast.
